      <image:title>Team - Melissa Munn.</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m Melissa Munn, a library leader and consultant focused on helping organizations build safe, consistent, and sustainable service environments. My work is grounded in more than 20 years of experience leading, training, and supporting staff across complex, people-centered environments. Before transitioning into libraries, I spent over a decade in social services, working directly with marginalized and vulnerable populations—including youth and adults experiencing homelessness, survival-based youth, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. This experience continues to shape my approach today. I believe that public libraries are a reflection of their communities—and that creating truly welcoming spaces requires more than intention. It requires clear expectations, aligned leadership, and systems that support staff in navigating complexity every day. As a leader, I have worked at both the system and frontline levels, supporting teams across multiple locations and roles. I bring a practical understanding of how policies, leadership decisions, and organizational culture directly impact staff experience and customer interactions. My approach is grounded in: A trauma-informed, human-centered lens A strengths-based approach to staff development A focus on systems that support staff before, during, and after challenging interactions I am particularly skilled at building trust and strong working relationships across all levels of an organization, from frontline staff to executive leadership, and with external partners. I use this foundation to help organizations align their values with their daily practices. Ultimately, my work is about helping libraries move from reactive responses to proactive, sustainable systems that support both staff and community. I look forward to partnering with you.</image:caption>
